Archaeologists in Israel announced a pretty sweet discovery yesterday- a shard of pottery with 5 lines of Hebrew text that is a thousand years older than the Dead Sea Scrolls (that puts it at about 1,000 BC).
The text hasn’t been completely translated yet, which surprised me because it’s only 5 lines… but there were a few words that were quickly discovered: “judge”, “slave”, and “king”.
If the text is referring to King David, well that has all sorts of implications for Jerusalem (and anyone Christian or Jewish.)
