tracts

I’m helping to create some of the teaching material we will use in our “Reach” class, which is the third part of our “Connect-Grow-Reach” vision here at Calvary. My specific role has been to help craft some of the language that we use to teach and communicate our vision. It’s kind of funny being in my shoes because I’m still the new guy, and in a lot of ways I’m still learning what our vision is by watching it play out in what we actually do!

One of the topics in the class is evangelism. Just saying that word paints a million different pictures in a million different minds. We’re talking about what it means for the church to share, spread, communicate, live, be, know, and… well, evangelize.

I’m curious about one of the pictures that pops in my own head when I hear that word… Have you ever had someone “share their faith” with you using a tract? Did it work? Does it work? Can it work? Is it a good thing, a bad thing, or somewhere in the middle?
