A ball took a funny hop tonight on its way to me at first base and BAM, it hit me right in the nose. So we headed to the ER because I was bleeding like it had shanked an artery, and from the sound of it hitting my face I was convinced that my nose was broken. I left a ton of blood in the dugout, which will be a nice reminder for the next few weeks when we come back. Oh, by the way, we won the game- our first win.
After two stitches and some superglue I was out of there! The bridge of my nose is swollen, but I think it actually looks like an improvement.
We snapped a few pictures while we were there. Thank God for Lidocaine!

You took it like a champ! I think the other guys were jealous that hey don’t have battle wounds! Way to take one for the team.

Wait, Ryan gets kudos for hurting himself because he didn’t know what he was doing? That doesn’t make any sense to me.
Ho hum, I expect you out there next week, and if you want we can fit you with a catcher’s mask to wear.
Congrats on the win. Player of the game award goes to Matt Davis for his great game. 2 runs allowed and 2 big K’s. That’s what I’m talking about.

I can see why college football players get frustrated with Mel Kiper Jr.- he sits on the sidelines and criticizes the players even though he doesn’t play and never did play.
Thanks Melissa! I’d take a punch in the face every week if it meant we’d win.
